Journals
Teaching Development Course
Sapporo University

The journal is a small notebook in which you write your reflections (in English) on this course. If you prefer to type your journal or do it through e-mail, that is fine. Suggestions for journal entries are:

Write weather words (for the day of the class or the day you write the journal).

• Answer the homework questions about the methods in the textbook.

• Write a summary of the class–the method or approach and techniques that were used.

• Write your reaction to the class, using the following:

• How did you feel about the experience?

• How can the exercises be used or adapted for teaching different ages and levels of students?

• Ask questions, make requests, or in other ways give feedback to or communicate with the instructor for the course.

EXTRA: For every entry, get at least two other students to write short comments about what you have written. When you respond to someone else's journal, you might agree or disagree, ask for clarification, ask other questions, express how you were stimulated by what the writer said, or expand on the journal by adding your own comments.
