FRANCE TRAVELOGUE | BAGNEUX | JUIGNAC | STREET PERFORMERS | FRENCH FOOD | FRIENDS
The following are photos I took of Paris when I visited France in early spring (March) 2000.
I stopped at an outdoor cafe to have a glass of Perrier. The weather was so warm, it was quite comfortable sitting outside. What was interesting to me is that the chairs, rather than being in a circle around the tables, were mainly facing out. For more photos of my dining experiences in France, see French Food.
I was entranced by the numerous street performers all over Paris. They were not simply amateurs out to get a few extra francs. Many were so professional that I could have watched for hours. See more Street Performers.
While visiting Paris, I stayed with a friend in Bagneux, one of the many suburbs. One of my most interesting experiences there was going to the Sunday market.
I met another Internet friend for the first time, Charley Boggs, an artist who has lived in Paris around 30 years. See more photos of friends living in France.
I spent about a week visiting Angouleme and other places in southwestern France. Every time I turned a corner, there was another picturesque view. Actually I stayed in a small village called Juignac.
